The Bellona-Gittings Community Association and Pinehurst Wine Shoppe have been close to an agreement since the annual meeting in May. We updated the community on July 13th that Pinehurst seeks to include language in the Memorandum of Understanding that would permit them to sell cannabis products should that become legal. The Board asked for community input and attempted to speak directly with immediate neighbors on Sunday, July 14th – of which input from 5 out of 8 was gathered. The Board received feedback from neighbors that they are concerned by any potential cannabis sales while others are ok with cannabis-infused beverages only.

This means despite our continued efforts since the annual meeting the BGCA and Pinehurst have not yet agreed on a final Memorandum of Understanding before the August 1st meeting of the Baltimore City Planning Commission.

Interested community members are encouraged to attend the August 1st zoning meeting, or send their feedback directly to Councilman Conway’s staff.

This bill is scheduled to receive a hearing on Thursday, August 1 at 1:30 PM before the Baltimore City Planning Commission. The Planning Commission meets in person on the 8th floor of the Benton Building (417 E. Fayette Street) and accepts testimony orally at the hearing or via email to commission staff Eric Tiso <eric.tiso@baltimorecity.gov>.
